Voices for Illinois Children is a statewide, nonpartisan, multi-issue advocacy organization that is committed to building better lives for children. We engage in a range of activities — including policy research and analysis, policy advocacy, strategic communications, and community engagement — all in support of policies and programs that enhance the well-being of children, families, and communities in Illinois.

As we celebrate our 25th anniversary, we also acknowledge the many issues that confront parents, educators, advocates, and policymakers in our work to improve the lives of Illinois children and their families: A struggling economy. State revenue shortfalls and budget constraints. A changing political landscape.

The challenges are many, and our work is more important than ever before. Using the best available data and research on child well-being, we focus on and advocate for the policies and investments we know will bring the greatest benefit to all our children.
