How We Work

Children need advocates — adults who hold public officials accountable for public policies that impact children. They need adults who understand that an investment in our children are investments in long-term solutions and the future of our state. 

Voices for Illinois Children examines conditions facing children and their families and proposes research-based solutions. We also seek the input of family and community members when determining policy initiatives. We publish a range of reports, draft legislation, comment on rules and regulations, and communicate and deliberate with legislators and policymakers. Through social marketing campaigns, public communications, and media outreach, we build the public awareness — and public will — that empowers families and communities to speak up for all children.
