Voices organized Healthy Moms, Healthy Children, a panel discussion held at the DuPage Children's Museum, to ignite conversation about maternal or perinatal depression. Panelists provided insight on maternal depression from a variety of perspectives - clinical, psychological, legislative and personal.

Panelists included:
Rebecca Christophersen, University of Illinois
Linda Gilkerson, Ph.D., professor, Erikson Institute
Joan Mudd, Jennifer Mudd Houghtaling Foundation
Dawn Melchiorre, Voices Senior Policy Associate.

Attendees mingle before the "Healthy Moms,
Healthy Children" panel discussion on
maternal depression.

Dr. Rohitkumar Vasa, a Chicago area neonatologist, discusses his experience
observing how postpartum depression
affects children.
Panelists advocate for early screening of
maternal depression. In fact, a bill passed by
the legislature calls for early assessment by
front-line health workers.
