CHILDHOOD TRAUMA

Exposure to trauma as a child negatively impacts the developing brain. Children who experience physical abuse, serious accidents or illnesses, natural disasters, exposure to violence, unstable homes and other factors can suffer arrested development and the full range of mental health problems.

What Voices for Illinois Children is Doing

Voices for Illinois Children houses the Illinois Childhood Trauma Coalition, which is working to prevent and treat childhood trauma by raising public awareness, sharing research and implementing best practices for treatment.
