National KIDS COUNT Data Book
**Released August 17, 2011**

Voices for Illinois Children is part of a national and state effort to track the status of children by the Annie E. Casey Foundation. The Foundation publishes an annual, national KIDS COUNT data book. The 2011 KIDS COUNT Data Book essay examines the country's progress in keeping track of children's well-being, measuring the impact of public programs, and holding ourselves accountable for improving their futures.
