A child’s educational achievement depends in large part on factors outside of the classroom. To improve educational achievement, we must stop the erosion of children’s school supports – chiefly by reforming Illinois’ flawed school- funding system – while simultaneously halting the erosion of human services upon which children and families depend. A child who is sick or hungry can’t focus on his studies. A kindergartener without quality preschool is more likely to fall behind her peers. Download and read report
